Boarding Protocols

Disease Prevention: To prevent the spread of disease to pets and people we require that dogs are up to date on Rabies, Bordetella, Distemper, Parvo, and Leptospirosis vaccines. We require that cats are up to date on Rabies and FVRCP vaccines. Dogs & Cats must be up to date on flea prevention. Being up to date on Heartworm prevention is HIGHLY recommended. Exotic animals have no vaccine requirements but must be up to date on flea prevention if applicable. If parasites are noted, we will initiate treatment and the cost will be due at the time of pickup. *

Stress & Comfort Care: We take extra precaution to keep your pet happy while you’re away, but they still will miss you. Stress is bad for pet’s overall health and even in mild cases, can lead to diarrhea, skin abrasions, and can turn into fear. As a Low Stress Handling Certified Practice, we take stress seriously. This is one reason why we require you bring your own food. We have stress relieving supplements & medications that we can utilize to protect your pet. These decisions will be made by the doctor on duty and only in your pet’s best interest. Do you authorize additional stress relieving measures, if needed? *

Pictures & Texting: We are proud to offer the ability to text our clients. Could we occasionally text you updates and/or pictures of your pet while you’re away? *

Pickup & Fee Schedule: Boarding is charged by the closing time shift. Meaning - any pet present for boarding in our hospital when office hours close will be charged for 1 night of boarding. In order to minimize your wait time, we highly recommend a scheduled boarding discharge time. You should plan for the pickup appointment to take 5-10 minutes, unless medical problems were found or addressed during your pet’s stay. Discharge Appointment Time & Date *

I, the undersigned, understand that the doctors and CVH will act in the best interest of my pet in the case of an emergency while trying to contact me. I authorize the above additional medical services. I fully intend to pick my pet up at the designated Pickup Appointment. If circumstances change, I will notify the facility, agree to a new Pickup Appointment, and will assume the responsibility for additional charges. I understand that if my pet is left at CVH for more than 3 days past its assigned Pickup Appointment and no effective communication has occurred with the CVH team, according to state law, my pet will be considered abandoned and ownership will legally transfer to CVH. I understand that payment is due in full at the time of my Pickup Appointment and I understand that accounts requiring legal action will have the costs of collection and attorney’s fees transferred to the account. I certify that I am the owner or owner’s authorized agent of this pet.
